For years I had this uncontrollable urge to do a cover of what’s arguably my favorite composition of all time, “Peaches en Regalia” by Frank Zappa. Although purely meant as a tribute, covering a song by Zappa also takes a certain amount of proneness to self-flagellation. His music is complex, multi-layered, technically demanding and therefore leaves no margins for even the tiniest of deviation. Needles to say this one demanded some blood, sweat and tears and although in my opinion my version can’t hold a candle tot he original, I’m still bloody proud I kinda pulled it off.
